Cholmondeley, Alice Margarette was born 18 March 1849 in Stoneleigh, Warwickshire. Daughter of Henry Pitt Cholmondeley and Mary(iii) Leigh. She married Rev. Harrison Goodenough Hayter 3 September 1884 in Adlestrop. She appears on the 1851 census for Hamstall Ridware, Staffordshire; 1861 for Great Malvern, Worcestershire; 1871 for Holy Trinity, Sussex; 1881 & 1891 for Binfield, Berkshire; 1911 for Elmdon, Warwickshire. She was godmother to Christopher Evangel Howes. She died 12 January 1937 in Cambridge, Cambridgeshire.

Cholmondeley, Rev. Charles Fiennes was born 26 November 1863 in Adlestrop. Son of Henry Pitt Cholmondeley and Mary(iii) Leigh. He married Katharine Courthope 27 July 1897 in Christ Church, Albany Street, London. He appears on the 1871 census for Adlestrop; 1881 for Clifton, Gloucestershire; 1891 for Blockley, Worcestershire; 1901 & 1911 for Little Sampford, Essex. He was educated at Clifton College, Bristol and New College, Oxford University. He was the Rector at Little Sampford Rectory, Essex and the Vicar at St Mary's Church, Adderbury, Oxfordshire 1913-1935 (His name is inscribed on bell no. 6). On Monday 13th April 1885, he recorded in his diary:

"Rosie, Nellie, Teddie and I went to see the place where Mr Young's orphanage (now part of Kingham School) is being built. They were boring for water and had got down more than 100 feet, and were letting down huge iron cylinders; we brought back some fossils."

He died in 1958 in Newton Abbot, Devon.

Cholmondeley, Edward "Teddie" Chandos was born 28 March 1860 in Adlestrop. Son of Henry Pitt Cholmondeley and Mary(iii) Leigh. He married Ethel Elizabeth Crosthwaite 21 November 1895. He appears on the 1861 & 1871 censuses for Adlestrop; 1881 for Binfield, Berkshire; 1891 for Leek Wootton, Warwickshire; 1911 for Adlestrop. He was educated at Corpus Christi College, Oxford University. He was admitted to the Inner Temple in 1886. He was a barrister. He played cricket for Edgbaston 1888-1891. He was a churchwarden in Eckington, Worcestershire 1911-1920. He lived at Eckington Manor, Worcestershire. He died in 1957 in Cheltenham, Gloucestershire.

Cholmondeley, Eleanor "Nellie" Caroline was born 18 December 1857 in Adlestrop. Daughter of Henry Pitt Cholmondeley and Mary(iii) Leigh. She appears on the 1861, 1871, 1881, 1891, 1901 & 1911 censuses for Adlestrop. She appears on the electoral rolls for 1919-1927, 1929-1932, 1934-1937. She lived at Adlestrop Rectory. She was a fine archer, and in winter would go skating on the Rectory lake. She died 10 November 1947 in Cheltenham, Gloucestershire. She has a memorial plaque in St Mary Magdalene, Adlestrop. Cholmondeley, Rev. Francis "Frank" Grenville was born 23 March 1850 in Hamstall Ridware, Staffordshire. Son of Henry Pitt Cholmondeley and Mary(iii) Leigh. He appears on the 1851 census for Hamstall Ridware, Staffordshire; 1861 for Great Malvern, Worcestershire; 1871 for St. Margaret, London; 1881, 1891 & 1901 for Leek Wootton, Warwickshire; 1911 for Adlestrop. He was educated at Christ Church, Oxford University. He appears on the electoral rolls for 1918-1927, 1929-1932, 1934-1936. He lived at Adlestrop Rectory. He was Vicar of Leek Wootton 1880-1905 and Rector of Adlestrop from 1905 until his death. He wrote several works, including "Simple Helps for Young Communicants" (1894) and "The Burning of Paris" (1872). He died 26 July 1937 in Adlestrop. He is buried with his sister, Rose Evelyn Cholmondeley in the graveyard at Adlestrop. See Photographs.

Cholmondeley, Rev. Hon. Henry Pitt was born 15 June 1820 in Whitegate, Cheshire. Son of Thomas Cholmondeley 1st Baron Delamere of Vale Royal and Henrietta Elizabeth Williams-Wynn. He married Mary(iii) Leigh 4 May 1848 in Stoneleigh, Warwickshire. He appears on the 1841 census for Christ Church College, Oxfordshire; 1851 for Hamstall Ridware, Staffordshire; 1861, 1871, 1881, 1891 & 1901 for Adlestrop. He was educated at Christ Church, Oxford University. He appears on the electoral rolls for 1892-1893. He was Hon. Canon of Gloucester, Rural Dean of Stow and Rector of Adlestrop. He died 14 April 1905 in Adlestrop. He is buried with his wife, Mary(iii) Leigh in the graveyard at Adlestrop. See Photographs.

Cholmondeley, Major Henry Reginald was born 11 June 1862 in Adlestrop. Son of Henry Pitt Cholmondeley and Mary(iii) Leigh. He married Cordelia Mercy Ormrod 17 November 1903 in Westminster, London. He appears on the 1871 electoral roll for Adlestrop; 1881 for Binfield, Berkshire; 1911 for Crickhowell, Breconshire. After fighting in the Great War, he lived at Coughton House, Ross-on-Wye, Herefordshire. In 1923, his book "Smoking Room Memories" was published. He served in Gibraltar, Egypt, Malaya, India and Burma as well as in the Boer War and on the Western Front and Salonica. He was on the staff of the Governor of New South Wales and spent time in British Columbia where, having left the army for a while, he tried cattle ranching and vagrancy. He died 20 December 1947 in Henley, Oxfordshire.

Cholmondeley, Hugh Grenville was born 25 July 1897 in Indore, India. Son of Edward Chandos Cholmondeley and Ethel Elizabeth Crosthwaite. He appears on the 1911 census for Burstow, Surrey. He was educated at Copthorne School, Surrey. He was 2nd Lieutenant in the 16th Battalion of the Kings Royal Rifle Corps. He died 23 May 1931 in Stafford, Staffordshire. He has a memorial plaque in St Mary Magdalene, Adlestrop. See Photographs.

Cholmondeley, Rev. Lionel Berners was born 13 June 1854 in Adlestrop. Son of Henry Pitt Cholmondeley and Mary(iii) Leigh. He appears on the 1861-1881 censuses for Adlestrop. He was educated at Oriel College, Oxford University, gaining a B.A. in 1882 and a M.A. in 1885. He was Rector of St. Barnabas in Ushigome and Chaplain at the British embassy, in Tokyo, Japan. In 1927, he was Vicar of Edge, Gloucestershire. In 1939, he was living in Woodstock Road, St. Giles, Oxford, Oxfordshire. He published the first english-language history of the Bonin Islands. He died 21 January 1945 in Oxford, Oxfordshire.

Cholmondeley, Hon. Mary See Leigh, Hon. Mary

Cholmondeley, Mary Louisa was born 24 July 1851 in Hamstall Ridware, Staffordshire. Daughter of Henry Pitt Cholmondeley and Mary(iii) Leigh. She married Sir Charles Mordaunt 10th Baronet 24 April 1878 in Adlestrop. She appears on the 1871 census for Adlestrop; 1881, 1891, 1901 & 1911 for Wellesbourne Hastings, Warwickshire. She died 10 June 1947.

Cholmondeley, Rose "Rosie" Evelyn was born in 26 January 1856 in Adlestrop. Daughter of Henry Pitt Cholmondeley and Mary(iii) Leigh. She appears on the 1861 census for Adlestrop; 1871 for Holy Trinity, Sussex; 1881, 1891 & 1901 for Adlestrop. She wrote "Adlestrop: It's cottages and their inhabitants 1876-77" edited by Lionel Berners Cholmondeley and published in 1935. She died 15 April 1907 in Adlestrop and is buried with her brother Francis Grenville Cholmondeley in the graveyard at Adlestrop. See Photographs.

Cholmondeley, Rupert Wynn was born in 2 November 1902 in Indore, India. Son of Edward Chandos Cholmondeley and Ethel Elizabeth Crosthwaite. He appears on the 1911 census for Adlestrop. He died from typhoid 12 July 1927 in Shanghai, China. He has a memorial plaque in St Mary Magdalene, Adlestrop erected by his Aunt, Eleanor Caroline Cholmondeley. See Photographs.
