Lines, Ellen Margaret was born in 1873 in Knebworth, Hertfordshire. Daughter of Charles Lines and Clara Louisa Brown. She appears on the 1881 & 1891 censuses for Elmdon, Warwickshire; 1901 for Adlestrop. She was a Lady's Maid at Adlestrop Rectory.
